Cellar Door & Café Coordinator
About the Role
We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a dual Cellar Door and Café role. This position is the heart of our visitor experience, combining wine sales, customer service, and café management to create an exceptional journey for our guests. You will be the face of our brand, ensuring every visitor feels welcome and well-cared for. This role offers a diverse range of tasks across wine education, food service, and daily operations. A full-time employment opportunity is offered for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the cellar door and café, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and well-organized atmosphere for all guests.
- Manage wine tastings, providing informative and engaging experiences that highlight our wine selection and brand story.
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, gourmet sandwiches, antipasto platters, cheeseboards, and desserts with a focus on quality and premium presentation.
- Maintain inventory of wines and café supplies, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and stock levels.
- Manage cash handling, point-of-sale transactions.
- Foster strong relationships with customers, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues that arise with a professional approach.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and high standards of hygiene in all areas.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the cellar door and café are consistently stocked and ready for service.
Qualifications and Skills
- Well-presented with a professional demeanour and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the wine or hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, tasting techniques, and wine service (desired).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in food preparation and coffee service is preferred.
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service and attention to detail.
- Mandatory: Valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate.
- Mandatory: Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
Desirable (not essential)
- Knowledge of local wine regions and tourism.
- Experience in visual merchandising or retail displays.
- Note: Professional Barista qualifications are not necessary.
